Kelly Watson is Cross Winds Farm owner and head trainer.
Having been around horses her whole life, Kelly has competed in everything from Team Penning to Hunter/Jumpers. She is
now actively involved in the Northern Illinois Hunter Jumper Association (NIHJA). Kelly is detailed oriented and
dedicated to her clients. She provides her clients with the tools and directions needed to achieve lndividual
goals -- always with her personal touch. Kelly is hands-on in
the running of Cross Winds Farm. Her attention to detail does not end in lessons or horse training. Everything
from the quality of the hay and grain to the condition of the footing in the arena is of the utmost importance. Care
of the horses and her clients is her top concern.
Lesley Teichman has been a great addition to Cross Winds
Farm family. Though a new member, Lesley has been at our facility for a few years now and we couldn't be happier
to have her on our team. Leslie has 20+ years of horse experience which enables her to handle any scenario
presented to her. She can work with and train green horses and beginner riders, as well as provide support and fine
tuning to the most seasoned competitor. If you are looking for a trainer who can work with you and your horse or assist
you in the purchase of the "horse of your dreams," Lesley can guide you in the right direction.
Amanda Claps has been associated with Cross Winds
Farm since 1995. As a very young adult, she became a professional rider and trainer. She is fantastic with her
students, and even better with horses -- Amanda is well versed in riding all types of horses. She is always professional, and
adds a touch of humor and wit to everything she does. Her students love working with her. Currently she is
traveling with our "C" circuit show team. She is an invaluable member of our Cross Winds Farm team.
Terry Hanley has the patience of a saint. His great
sense of humor, along with experienced teaching skills, make him an asset to our barn. Terry has a way with students.
If you are just a beginner rider, adult or child, he can build your skills to whatever you choose. Do you want to ride
once a week and have more fun than anything, just let him know. Do you want to get down to basics in a no stress environment,
and step-up to a higher-level when the time is right, Terry can assist you. His energy is endless and he truly enjoys
teaching.

Jennifer Claps-Heldt has been a part of the Cross Winds
family for almost 13 years. Her experience includes competing as a Junior in Hunter/Jumpers, Eventing, and
Dressage (1st Level Competition). Jen has dedicated her life to education, since along with being a seasoned instructor
and trainer, she is a 7th grade Math teacher as well. Jen is currently traveling with our "C" circuit show team
and loves working with riders of any level. She has unlimited patience for beginner riders, along with a proficiency
in training green horses. Jen is an integral part of our team.
Tammy Crowden our barn manager, handles and cares for our
horses on a daily basis. Tammy has lived in Marengo for 35 years. Since she was 11 years old, she has dedicated her
life to the equine profession. She is committed to the health, well being and quality training of the equines in
her charge. Her career spans over decades, from breeding to training champion halter horses. Her years of experience,
along with a pure love for animals, over-qualifies her as the newest addition to our barn. Her attention to detail in
the care and feeding of all her animals, as well as her ability to handle any situation that comes her way, makes her
the best at what she does. She cares for our horses with the same high quality that she cares for her own.
We feel extremely lucky to have Tammy on our team.
